Why it is important to take a good lsat prep courseIn order to get into most law schools, an applicant must show that her or she has an aptitude for studying law. This is normally determined by their undergraduate grades, the LSAT (Law School Admission Test), how well-regarded the undergraduate school was, in addition to work experience that the applicant already has and at times, how well he or she does in an interview. It should be noted, though, that law schools differ in how much emphasis they place on each of these components. The only ABA-approved law schools that don't require applicants to take the LSAT are the law schools in Puerto Rico (as of 2002). Almost ever law school mandates applicants to send their certified transcipts to the Law School Data Assembly Service. The Law School Data Assembly Service in turn sends the applicants' LSAT results and the grades from their college to law schools of their choosing. Both the LSAT and this service are carried out under the administration of the Law School Admission Council. Enrollments in these schools rose very rapidly during the 1970s, as applicants far outnumbered available seats. Although the overall number of law school applicants decreased markedly in the 1990s, the number of applicants to most law schools still greatly exceeds the number that can be admitted.
